Helen “Dee” Cragun passed away this week. The former City Councilmember is well remembered by family, friends, and community. She was a dedicated and passionate advocate for the city. Our condolences to the Cragun family and loved ones.

City Council Early Election Results
The early results are in for the Deer Park City Council Elections. It appears that Caleb Stapp will take Position 4 with 54.11% of the votes, opposed to Heather Newsom’s 45.25%. The race between Carla Phillips and Dee Cragun is much closer with only 21 votes separating the two candidates

New Council Members Made Official
The year 2020 for Deer Park started off with the swearing in of three City Council members. Caleb Stapp won the election with 694 votes (his opponent, Heather Newsom had 488), Helen Dee Cragun won with 558 votes (her opponent, Carla J. Philips had 548 votes), and Ron Scholz ran unopposed.

City Council Cancels Chamber Contract
The Deer Park City Council voted to end their contract with the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce at the November 4th council meeting.
