The Colville School District announced on March 2nd, that the schools will be closed until a student under investigation for COVID-19 (the Coronavirus) is confirmed with either positive or negative test results. These test results could take up to 3 days, during which time the school district will be disinfecting the buildings.
The Deer Park Volunteer Ambulances have a new look! This past year the Deer Park volunteer ambulance service was able to purchase two new ambulances, one through a grant.
On October 24th, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross and Eastern Washington Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers announced that new grant money was to be invested into the Deer Park community. The $4.7 million grant from the Washington Department of Commerce’s Economic Division is intended to develop and improve the Deer Park Business and Industrial Park.
The Miss Deer Park Scholarship Association is actively working behind the scenes to begin preparation for the 2020 program, to be held at Deer Park High School on Saturday, March 14th, at 6pm.
On November 23rd from 4-6pm, a free Thanksgiving meal will be held at Deer Park High School. The event, which is hosted by Christ’s Church of Deer Park, encourages you to “invite your friends, family, and neighbors and enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving meal with us.”
Streetlights add a lot to the look and appeal of our city, not to mention help us see and make us feel safer while walking on the sidewalks at night.
