Family Festivities

October is here! Along with the bright colors and crisp cool air of autumn come the harvest and Halloween parties throughout our communities.

Pumpkin Lane – Deer Park

The first of our three highlighted events is the long standing Pumpkin Lane.  In this daylight trick-or-treat event, local businesses in Deer Park along Main and Crawford Street will be handing out candy to kids in costumes.

Celebrating their 23rd year, many of the kids who first took part in this tradition are now walking with their own children.

Light Up The Park – Chewelah

Another great event on the 26th is in Chewelah.  A short drive from Deer Park, the community fills their lovely park with lighted pumpkins.  Come nightfall the effect is delightful. This is the 6th annual Light Up the Park celebration.

Trunk or Treat – Loon Lake

Taking place at the Loon Lake Library, located at 4008 Cedar Street, kids and families can enjoy hot dogs, chili, carnival games, and candy galore.  Kids will be able to trick-or-treat from several car trunks parked at the library. This event is sponsored by Friends of Loon Lake Library, New Beginnings Church, and Stevens County Fire District #1.
