Donald Morris, 83, passed away on July 27, 2022 in Greeley, Colorado. He was born to Arthur and Pearl (Welliver) Morris on May 18, 1939 in Spokane, Washington.
Donald moved to California at the age of 17 where he attended and graduated from the College of San Mateo in Northern California, with an AA degree in English.

Chicken Discussion At City Hall

Mary Hathaway stood up to address the ownership of chickens within Deer Park city limits. There had been flyers posted around town and posts on social media to gather support for the meeting held on July 20th. The room was packed with some people standing in the halls that wanted to be a part of this discussion and hear the response of council members along with city staff. Mayor Tim Verzal has asked Mary Hathaway to represent the group in favor of chickens; she accepted the role with the support of those in attendance who thought it was an eggs-cellent idea.

Jacqueline Ann Lyons, 79

On June 18, 2022, Jackie Ann Lyons left this earth peacefully on her terms to reunite with her Mom (Regina), Dad (Albert), Sister (Eline), Son (Mark) and many friends in heaven. Jackie is the loving mother and mother-in-law of Mike (Brooke) Lyons and Michelle (Scott) Coe. She is blessed with 6 grandchildren: Taylor and Tyler Lyons, Kaylee Coe, Alicia, Marissa and Noah Lyons. Jackie is survived by her siblings Evie Harlow and Mike (Diane) Schaff, many nieces and nephews.

In appreciation of their outstanding support, Sculley’s Automotive was recognized by Deer Park Rotary. Sculley’s Automotive, located on 33 W. Crawford Street in Deer Park, does more than check brakes and change tires. In a recent meeting, Deer Park’s Rotary Club gifted a Community Award to Sculley’s Automotive for their aid within the Riverside High School community.

Susan Kathleen Crim

Susan Morgan Crim,71, of Deer Park, passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of July 2, 2022.

Susan was born on 09/01/1950 to Gerald Morgan and Barbara Arant in Yukiah, California. She graduated from High School in Chugiak, AK in 1968. 

She worked a number of jobs including waitressing and insurance. She assisted Ronald Reagan with his insurance needs when he was purchasing some property! Her true passion was thrifting. She owned and operated Susan’s Second Hand in Deer Park for over 25 years!
