In honor of some of the precious children that were brought into this world during the pandemic and following months, we have the “I’m a Quaranteenie” onesie. The sweet babies born this year are wonderful reminders that the first year of the pandemic wasn’t all bad.
Consumer fireworks remain legal within the Deer Park City limits on New Year’s Eve, starting at 5pm and ending at 12:30am January 1st.

In a partnership with Avista, the Economic Development Committee, the Chamber of Commerce is working to add holiday lights and seasonal decor. Part of that effort is the Stag Award; going to the business with the best holiday decor on the storefront or the window display.
This may be one of the most looked forward to New Year’s celebrations in a long while. Even though, or especially because, this year has been so rough, many of our neighbors and local groups have shown us astounding community spirit.
The lights shone bright as did the community spirit on December 5th, when Deer Park celebrated the lighting of our City Hall Christmas Tree.
In an effort to uplift the community, and following the example set in both Spokane and the Colville/Kettle Falls area, Emily Unger has started a Deer Park chapter of the “Qauranteam”. This is an organized effort to aid local businesses and community members in need by gathering donations, then using them to buy meals at local eateries to feed individuals in need. No questions asked.
You may have noticed that some new signs have shown up recently in the Deer Park Yoke’s parking lot. You can now purchase your groceries online or through the Rosie app and pickup in the parking lot.
Several updates emanated from the Office of the Governor in December. Many regarding benefits that the Governor is extending to help people through these trying times, there was also an extension and modification to the current restrictions.
Wow! This was the best turnout of coloring artists we’ve ever had! There were 55 total entries this year: 26 Kids, 19 Tween/Teen and 10 Adults. The decisions were incredibly difficult to make, and we would give you all a prize if we could!
