Grand Opening of The Hotspot!

With a cut of the golden scissors, Jeff Whittle, President of the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce, officially opened The Hotspot on November 17th. Located at North 104 Main Street in Deer Park, The Hotspot is a coworking office space providing a host of professional amenities to area entrepreneurs, small businesses, and/or individuals.  Whittle was joined by the Chamber Board of Directors, Deer Park Royalty, the Small Business Association, Washington Trust Bank, and other well-wishers, who gathered under drizzly skies in front of the renovated historic downtown building to welcome Hotspot’s grand opening, and to acknowledge those who contributed to its design and building.

Once the ribbon cutting ceremony was completed, celebrants moved indoors to see a wholly renovated interior, with state of the art internet connections, open desk layouts, conference room, and a priceless piece of Deer Park/Clayton history, the 100 year old plus “Olsen Opera House” curtain, hanging on the wall.

Danielle Holstine, of the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce, spoke about the development of The Hotspot from an idea to reality. She was followed by Bill Sebright, of the Clayton/Deer Park Historical Society, who gave a brief history of the area, the opera house curtain, and encouraged people to visit their website at cdphs.org.  From the City’s Economic Development Office, Joe Tortorelli shared about the large concentration of entrepreneurs in the area. Finally, Adrian Finch from Washington Trust Bank gave an update on the Payroll Protection Program for business owners.

The Hotspot’s logo, a flower blossoming into an internet signal, was inspired by the sunflower fields in the area.

The Hotspot is a business service provided by the Chamber of Commerce.  It is intended to be self-supporting, with additional proceeds going towards town beautification projects, such as placing flower baskets and flags along Main Street. Chamber members get a 5% discount.  Daily, monthly, and annual membership rates are available. For more information on how you, or your company, can use the services provided at The Hotspot:
