Canceling the fireworks display for the 4th of July, Mayor Tim Verzal cited concerns over public health amidst the ongoing pandemic. Depending on deputy availability, there will be extra enforcement of consumer fireworks laws in Deer Park. This year marks the first 4th of July with the new limitations on when you can use and buy fireworks.
The Deer Park Chamber of Commerce (DPCC) held another meeting via Zoom to further highlight the benefits a chamber membership brings to Deer Park’s local businesses. Amongst several advertising opportunities, a membership aids small businesses in getting their story out to an interested region, and connecting them to other businesses.
The Chamber of Commerce is one of the local groups working to help Deer Park move with purpose into the future. The Chamber’s Board of Directors is planning an open forum called “Building A Remarkable Community” for November 18th at Lofty Skies (851 S Main Street) to bring more people into this community conversation.
There are many updates and changes happening over at the Chamber of Commerce. The organization is working hard to add benefits for their members, which in turn will positively impact the whole Deer Park township. When businesses prosper, the whole community reaps the rewards.
