Students Of The Month – November 2022

Deer Park Rotary Members welcomed the November Students of the Month from Deer Park, Riverside, and Mary Walker High Schools at their lunch meeting on November 3rd, 2022 at First Street Bar and Grill in Deer Park.

Deer Park School District
Principal Joe Feist introduced Deer Park Student of the Month, Ella Carnahan who was accompanied by Deer Park High School Athletic Director Cameron Gilbert. Ella is a student and Athlete, Soccer Team Leader, and ASB Vice President. In addition, she is involved in the 4×1 Relay team and DECA, where she serves as the Stag Prints Manager. Ella plans to attend Embry-Riddle University in Prescott, AZ, and pursue medicine and aviation.

Riverside School District
Riverside High School Principal Clint Hull introduced Student of the Month, Emma Gray. Emma is Captain of the Cross-Country team, loves theater, track, Spanish and French, and enjoys working out while maintaining a substantial GPA. In addition, she has a passion for learning languages, especially Spanish. She hopes to get an AA degree at Spokane Falls Community College and pursue a Sports Medicine career.

Mary Walker School District
Ethan Miller, Student of the Month from Mary Walker High School was introduced by School Counselor Emily Spenser. Ethan introduced his mother, Kerri, and talked about his music, sports involvement, and long-time support of the Boy Scouts. He recently attended the College Fair at the Spokane Center and is looking at the University of Portland, Seattle University, or Oregon State, where he’d like to study Electrical Engineering. Ethan is the ASB Treasurer and a member of the football, basketball, and baseball teams at Mary Walker. He is involved in his community and is an avid card collector.

Deer Park Rotary wants to thank Deer Park Rotarians Marty Hilton and Dr. Jeremy Marcuson for taking notes and taking the photo for this month’s press release.

With a heavy heart we announce the death of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and dear friend Susan G. Robideaux Emry. Susan was born April 18th, 1953, in Spokane, WA, to William and Reubie Robideaux. She went to join the Lord peacefully, in her sleep on August 5th, 2024, at her cherished home on Reflection Lake in Elk, WA. Susan grew up and rivaled her feisty, fun-loving, 5 brothers in Spokane, WA, where they performed musical skits for family friends. She attended Marycliff and Mead High Schools. She met her future husband, Brian (Bud) Emry, at a party and was instantly charmed when he tuned his harmonica in orange soda. Bud, in turn, was captivated by Susan’s party trick – reciting Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious backwards.
