Skills Hobbies and Mimosas

Heroes Homestead is inviting female veterans in the area to gather to share skills, learn from, and connect with each other. This is the first of what will be a regular gathering.

This month’s project will be making a weighted blanket, which is a recommended way to help those with PTSD to sleep more soundly and deeply. Blankets will be donated to get Cbveterans and first responders who suffer from sleep deprivation.

Gather at Heroes Homestead for brunch and mimosas as you help create these quilts. Even if you don’t know how to sew, please still join in. Many hands are needed to help with the various aspects of blanket assembly, or go to simply enjoy the camaraderie. There will be something for every skill level. Plus, you are sure to make a new friend.

Upcoming plans include baking pies from scratch, and learning to can and preserve foods from the Victory Garden.
