Letter To The Editor – Cindy S.

In response to Dec 2020 “Of Barking Dogs…” etc by William S. the answer is NO!  My neighbor does not care of the quality of anyone’s life.

I have lived in my home since 1999 and in 2016 my “Kiddie Corner Neighbor” got a dog… A BIG one, with a big bark.

With all windows shut and TV on you can hear dog… All day and all night.

I had cancer surgery and was supposed to be down for 12 weeks…After 3 weeks I could not rest with dog barking continually… I would have to drive my car somewhere to sleep.

My neighbors and I contacted City Hall and complained and we were referred to SCRAPS. We did “logs” as per SCRAPS… until they told us to stop doing “logs” and they did not want to hear from us until the dog has 4 paws over the fence.

I followed the rules, yet the dog still barks day/night at anything, everything, and nothing.  The dog owner has made my life HELL and fearful.

Let barking dogs bark or fear the bite of the owner.

He has swerved his car into my yard several times while i am outside with my grandchild, acting like he is going to hit us.

Last summer he parked his car in my driveway blocking me from parking my car at my home.  I was so scared sitting in my car while he stared at me.

2 weeks ago I was sitting on my couch, I looked down to see a red dot on my chest of my shirt so I had my couch moved.

My grandchildren this summer were looking out the window of my home and said “Nana the guy across the street keeps doing this.” He was giving them the finger and arm gestures.

I have contacted legal services for elderly, but they can’t help, they said where there is a dog involved.

I’m sorry William and I feel your pain.

I have no rights I guess

Cindy S

Letter To The Editor – School Levy Importance

As a city council member in the late 70’s and early 80’s and a city employee for 24 years I have heard a lot of misinformation disseminated through “coffee shop” talk and later social media. It has always concerned me to hear incorrect information passed along by people who don’t bother to ask for the facts, when they are readily available. Right now I am hearing of things being said about the Deer Park School levy, particularly the need for a new bus barn, that are troubling.

Letter To The Editor – J and J Smith

In response to the two letters in the January 2021 edition “Of Barking Dogs and Circling Planes”. We moved here in 2003, my husband was from the area originally but put many years in the Marine Corp, and worked after that for a time. We live about a mile and half south of the Deer Park Airport. Letter To The Editor – Bob Jespersen

I think it is important to not link the issue of noisy dogs and airplane noise. The Deer Park Airport is an amazing asset to our community! Fabulous air shops, several airplanes related businesses, a terrific base for firefighting aircraft, and more. The Airport has really put Deer Park on the map for many years!
