Rotary Students of the Month: November 2020

A.J. Steinbeck, Deer Park High School November Student of the Month, was introduced by Principal Joe Feist as an academic and an athlete.  He is Captain of the Football and Track Teams and an avid outdoorsman.  A.J.  said he enjoys everything outdoors! He is seriously thinking about the Criminal Justice Program at Whitworth University and also very interested in the Border Patrol.  When asked about this year’s football team, he said that “we will be shoveling the field come February before we play ball!”  Principal Feist added that A.J. is a member of the Chess Club, went to state, and is a “true Renaissance man”.

Stacie Forsman, a senior at Mary Walker High School, is the November Student of the Month.  In addition to her high school curriculum, Stacie attends Spokane Falls Community College’s Running Start program and is on the Honor Roll there.  She works full-time at McDonald’s at the Shadle Center location and is saving for college!  She is planning on a medical profession and is looking at the University of Washington.  She excels in Biology, Chemistry and Poly-Science.  Her many hobbies include music, reading, and animals.  She plays the violin, clarinet, and bass guitar.  She is a very nurturing big sister to her siblings, and even passed her violin to her little sister.  She says it is an honor to be Student of the Month with Rotary.

Joe Ueno, Riverside High School November Student of the Month, was described by Superintendent Ken Russell as a diverse and well-rounded young man.  He is an athlete, a musician, and a scholar!  Joe, a senior at Riverside, has a 3-year varsity letter in both football and baseball.  He is on the Riverside High School Honor Society, and is looking at Boston and Berkeley College of Music, University of Washington or University of Puget Sound to study Music and Clinical Psychology.  He has played guitar since the 8th grade, where a few of his friends wrote some music and formed a band.  Their band, “Byrd” still performs, and most recently played amid the quarantine outside Riverside High School.
