Have you ever considered running for office? This year brings some potential changes to Deer Park’s city government with two council seats and the mayorship up for election. When considering whether or not to run, it’s hard to know where to begin.

Crawford – A Name, A Road, A Roundabout

When the name Crawford is used in Deer Park, it is understood to be Crawford Street, the primary east-west road in the city. Long before Crawford became known as a street, a man named George E. Soon, a roundabout will also carry this name on.

Parking Around Town – Perrins Field

Located in the center of downtown at 315 East Crawford Avenue is Perrins Field Park. The field was dedicated and named after the teacher, coach, and civic leader Sam Perrins. Letter To Editor: An Attitude of Gratitude

As we complete three-quarters of the school year, we feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Gratitude for our teachers, staff, administration, parents, and community members who helped make this year work for our students. It is not perfect. It is not at all “normal.” But we have students physically in school everyday. Let us say that again: We have students physically in school EVERYDAY.
