Avista Utilities sent a phone notification warning residents in our area of possible outages. They stated that due to the hot, dry weather conditions and the wind in our area’s forecast, they expect to change the sensitivity of their electrical system today, Friday, July 29th.
In appreciation of their outstanding support, Sculley’s Automotive was recognized by Deer Park Rotary. Sculley’s Automotive, located on 33 W. Crawford Street in Deer Park, does more than check brakes and change tires. In a recent meeting, Deer Park’s Rotary Club gifted a Community Award to Sculley’s Automotive for their aid within the Riverside High School community.
The Time Capsule Committee is asking the Deer Park community to participate in a historical gift that will not be opened until the year 2121. So that future Deer Park members will be able to reminisce about our present time.
The grand opening of Shamrock Glen was held at the newly completed model home just off of Weber Street. The event featured giveaways along with food from Masters Brewhouse and Kona Ice.
Gavin Barry Morse, 38, of rural Adams County, Washington took his final flight July 2, 2022. Gavin was born September 29, 1983 in Spokane, WA as the youngest of four children and only son to Bruce Morse and Maribeth Benson. Gavin grew up in the Spokane area and came to the Columbia Basin as a student in the Big Bend Community College Aviation program. It was during his time at Big Bend that Gavin met the love of his life, and partner in all things, Erin Wolf, while dirt biking in the Beezley Hills.

Faith Lutheran Church partnered with 2nd Harvest to serve families in Deer Park in June, and these organizations are not done helping our community this summer. They have scheduled two more events, one in July and the other in August.
After a two-year hiatus due to COVID 19 restrictions, members of the Deer Park Rotary Club were once again able to host this annual event at St. Mary Presentation Catholic Church in Deer Park. Twenty-four students from Deer Park, Riverside, and Mary Walker High Schools and their family members were invited to an afternoon of fun, food, and fellowship. The students were recognized with certificates and gifts.
