With so many lakes in the Spokane and Stevens County area (over 100), it is no wonder why boating is such a popular pastime in our area. However, as with most activities, boating is not without its dangers and accidents occur. This is why Spokane County Sheriff is offering mandatory boating education classes.
A warning was recently sent via mail about construction on Crawford, that would force property sales and business property demolition. The letter explained that Crawford would be widened due to growth and traffic and that State Farm insurance would be relocating.
There will be a silent auction to support The Deer Park High School Archery Team to raise money for the National Archery In The Schools Program (NASP) 3D Nationals this April. This will be the first time the whole team has qualified for Nationals. Several individuals on the team will also be competing in the tournament.
The Deer Park Archery Boosters will be hosting the fundraiser between noon to 6pm at Stylz Salon (located at 855 S Main Street in Deer Park) on Saturday, April 16th. The money will go toward equipment and trip expenses for the students. The auction is an open event, and you do not need a ticket to get in.
Tonight, tickets were sold out for the 2022 Miss Deer Park Scholarship Program annual event. Six local Deer Park High School junior or sophomore ladies competed this year.

Kurt Loth Langland passed away unexpectedly on February 15, 2022.
He was born to Raymond K. and Geraldine (Gerry) G. Langland on February 28, 1953 in Leon, Iowa. At his death, Kurt was 68 years old living in Yuma, Arizona with his wife of 42 years, Martha Frick Langland.
