Settlers Day Highlights: A Snapshot of Our Community

Want to see what made Deer Park’s 2025 Settlers Day unforgettable? Our slideshow captures all the highlights, from marching bands and local royalty to class reunions and a live VFW tribute you won’t want to miss.

Deer Park marked its 104th Settlers Day with a weekend full of activities. One of the weekend’s biggest highlights was the parade, which made its way from East Crawford, down Main Street, onto Fourth, and ended at Mix Park. Parade judges were stationed in front of City Hall to evaluate the colorful floats, classic and military vehicles, and entries representing everything from local businesses and class reunions to spirited cheerleaders, princesses, football players, and the Deer Park High School marching band. The VFW also offered a touching live memorial during the procession.

This year’s honored community members included Grand Marshals Leslie Stansbury and Danielle Prosser, and Honored Settlers Rick and Sherry Tedrow. Fred’s Automotive received the Community Service Traveling Trophy for their ongoing impact on the city.

But the festivities didn’t stop with the parade. Settlers Day also featured a Fire Department open house complete with demonstrations, a community connection at Mix Park, a local baseball tournament that drew crowds and cheers, and a farm swap, among other activities.

Couldn’t make it out or want to relive the fun? We’ve put together a slideshow capturing the energy, joy, and moments that made this year’s Settlers Day unforgettable, whether from the heart of the parade to all the weekend events that brought Deer Park together.
