Deer Park Heat Advisory: Greenhouse Food Bank Adjusts Hours

Deer Park is under a heat advisory with temperatures up to 103°F.  The Greenhouse Food Bank is adjusting its hours to ensure community safety.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a heat advisory for Eastern Washington, including Deer Park, effective until 10 p.m. today, Wednesday, July 10th. Daytime highs are expected between 95 to 103 degrees Fahrenheit, and overnight lows are lingering in the 50s to mid-60s, posing significant health risks.

In response to these conditions, the Greenhouse Food Bank is modifying its schedule to protect residents and volunteers from the extreme heat. To minimize exposure to the hot weather, the food bank will be open from 9am to 11am on Wednesday, July 10th, and Friday, July 12th. During these adjusted hours, the Greenhouse Food Bank will only provide food services to its clients.

For more information, please contact the food bank at (509) 276-6897. The Greenhouse Food Bank is located at 211 N. Fir Ave. in Deer Park.
