Clayton Rodeo Returns For 2024

Get ready to experience the thrill of the Clayton Rodeo’s return, offering two days of exciting events. Clayton Rodeo competitors can now register to ride, and vendors are welcome to sign up. Enjoy family-friendly fun at the Clayton Community Fairgrounds.

The Clayton Rodeo is set to return, offering rodeo enthusiasts an opportunity to saddle up for two days of exciting events in late July. Scheduled to coincide with Deer Park Settlers Day, the rodeo will be held at the Clayton Community Fairgrounds, located at 4616 Wallbridge Rd in Clayton.

The dates to remember are July 26th and 27th, promising a weekend filled with family fun and excitement. Gates will open at 5:30pm, with the rodeo starting at 7:30pm on both nights. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure their spots. The venue has introduced brand-new stadium seating for the comfort of the audience.

Ticket prices are as follows:

  • 6 to 12 year olds are $5.00
  • 13 years and up are $15.00 
  • Children under 6 are free (when accompanied by an adult.) 

 

Friday night is Military and Seniors discounted tickets for $12 

Their slack night is Friday after the main performance, so any events with more competitors than the regular rodeo window allows will compete then. It will also be the Tough Enough to Wear Pink night. 

Getting Involved

How to Compete

The Clayton Rodeo announced a $1,200 added purse for this year’s event. Registration for entries is now open. Interested participants can register for the rodeo by visiting Fastenter.com/t6_enter.php?showID=2758.

The entries are on a first-come, first-served basis for both Friday and Saturday performances. For barrel racing, there will be ten entries per performance, with additional entries going to slack on Friday after the performance.

Team ropers must call 509-276-2444 to enter and specify which night they wish to compete. Chute dogging participants should contact Dwayne at 509-276-5136, also specifying their preferred night. Entries will close at midnight on July 19th, with callbacks scheduled for July 22nd between 4pm and 7pm. Contestants must call back, as the organizers will not initiate the calls.

Be a Vendor

The Clayton Rodeo is seeking vendors for both nights of the event. Organizers aim to enhance the food, beverage, and shopping options available to spectators as they arrive early to secure seats and await the rodeo festivities.

Fred R. Miller

FRED R. MILLER,  passed away at home on Jan 14, 2026.  Fred was born in Spokane WA, on April 4,1944.   He grew up in Spokane attending Central Valley High School until his senior year, graduating from Deer Park High School in 1962.  Fred enlisted in the Navy out of high school, spending time in San Diego and Annapolis. He later graduated from WSU with distinction.

Shirley McRae Passes Away at 91

Shirley Eleanor (Kintschi) McRae, 91, of Spokane and formerly Deer Park, passed away on December 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Shirley was born to Morris Kintschi and Anna (Tanner) Kintschi on April 29, 1934, in Edwall, Washington. She graduated from Edwall High School in 1952, where she met her husband-to-be, John McRae. John and Shirley were married in 1954, and they lived in Redondo Beach, California, while John served in the U.S. Navy. They returned to Spokane in 1955, living on Five Mile Prairie, then at Dartford, and finally in the house that John designed and built in Deer Park in 1976, where the family lived for over 42 years.
