An upcoming visit this Friday of the Department of Social and Health Services(DSHS) Mobile Office to Deer Park presents an invaluable opportunity for residents to connect with vital services and support systems.

The Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) Mobile Office will be stationed at the Deer Park County Library at 208 S Forest Avenue on Friday, February 23rd.

From 9:30am to noon, residents of Deer Park and surrounding areas will have the opportunity to engage with the DSHS Mobile Office, which aims to bridge the gap in access to essential services. The mobile unit brings government assistance closer to the community, eliminating barriers such as distance and transportation issues.

DSHS offers assistance with food, cash, medical services, and more. Residents can apply for benefits, submit paperwork, and change existing cases, enhancing access to crucial resources.

What Is The DSHS Community Services Office?
The Mobile Community Services Office (CSO) initiative, launched by DSHS, brings essential services directly to rural communities, addressing the challenge of distance and accessibility for residents seeking assistance. Equipped with functioning offices on wheels, the Mobile CSO units offer services ranging from financial aid to Medicaid eligibility determination, aiming to improve outreach and support for those in need.

The Mobile CSO program marks a significant step in enhancing community engagement and access to vital services for rural residents. Recognizing the logistical challenges individuals living in remote areas face, the initiative seeks to alleviate the burden of traveling long distances to access government assistance programs. The Department of Social and Health Services aims to extend its reach and enhance customer service for rural households by deploying specialized trucks that transform into fully operational offices.

Each Mobile CSO unit is staffed by experienced program specialists who provide various services, including determining financial eligibility for cash and food assistance programs, processing applications, and issuing EBT cards. The initiative also extends support for programs such as the Child Care Subsidy Program, streamlining processes and making it more convenient for residents to access essential benefits.

With a heavy heart we announce the death of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and dear friend Susan G. Robideaux Emry. Susan was born April 18th, 1953, in Spokane, WA, to William and Reubie Robideaux. She went to join the Lord peacefully, in her sleep on August 5th, 2024, at her cherished home on Reflection Lake in Elk, WA. Susan grew up and rivaled her feisty, fun-loving, 5 brothers in Spokane, WA, where they performed musical skits for family friends. She attended Marycliff and Mead High Schools. She met her future husband, Brian (Bud) Emry, at a party and was instantly charmed when he tuned his harmonica in orange soda. Bud, in turn, was captivated by Susan’s party trick – reciting Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious backwards.
