Built in 1911, a dilapidated home on Crawford Street may soon be demolished. The building was purchased by the city at a recent auction. City crews have already started to remove debris from around the home. The building will be checked for hazardous materials before being torn down.
A Vintage Bungalow with attic, according to Spokane County records, was recently sold to the City of Deer Park at a Spokane County auction. The county had confiscated the home due to falling behind on property taxes.
The house at 407 E Crawford is adjacent to the city’s vehicle maintenance shop and diagonally across the street from City Hall. Clearing the land will give the city options for future growth and flexibility with its current buildings.

Crews have started removing brush and broken-down automobiles from around the home. However, before removing the building, it will first be checked for asbestos contaminants that need to be removed.
The home was last appraised at $190,000. The city purchased the land for $155,000 during the auction. The property information listed with Spokane County indicates that the home has three bedrooms and one bathroom with just over 900 square feet. The previous owner owed property taxes from 2021 totaling just over $5,000.
