Fueling Summer Adventures: Free Meals for Kids

Deer Park School District staff members at the new Perrins Field Community lunch location are ready to serve free lunches.

Fuel up for summer adventures with the Summer Meal Program, ensuring kids 18 and under enjoy free, nourishing meals and snacks during summer months. Deer Park School District has set up a new location for its community lunch program. Remember to devour the deliciousness on-site.

The Summer Meal Program is a valuable initiative to provide children meals with complete nutrition during school breaks. This year, Deer Park School District has relocated its community lunch program to Perrins Field, situated at 315 East Crawford St. in Deer Park. Look for friendly faces with coolers at one of the benches between 12:30pm and 1:00pm.

Please note that all meals must be consumed on-site. The program is federally funded and state-administered, adhering to rules established by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), which apply uniformly across all partnering organizations and are not specific to any particular local entity.

In our area, the Deer Park and Riverside School Districts as well as the Spokane County Library District, are collaborating as partner organizations to provide meals. Kids do not need to be part of the Deer Park or Riverside School District or be part of the Spokane County Library District in order to participate. Children can pick up without parents; however, parents can not pick up for their children. It’s important to be aware that Deer Park School District will not be serving lunch on Monday, July 3rd, and no meals will be available at any location on Tuesday, July 4th. Below is a list of sites where children can receive free food.
