Loon Lake Roundabout Open

Now open, the Loon Lake roundabout is nearly complete. All detours have been removed and the roundabout can be accessed from all directions. There is ongoing construction work to finish off some minor details.

According to Stevens County Emergency Management, the roundabout at the intersection of Highway 395 and Highway 292/Gardenspot Road is now available to the public. Road striping along with some other details will be completed shortly. The flat design, which has surprised some, allows large trucks to pass through easily.

The project was impacted by labor shortages delaying the construction schedule by several weeks. Once started, the major portion of the construction was completed quickly, in about the span of two weeks.

Now the only question is what to call an intersection nicknamed “Four Corners” that no longer has the corners?
