Appointed student nominees that are to attend one of several United States military academies were congratulated by U.S. Representative Cathy McMorris-Rodgers.

Riverside High School celebrates the announcement of their graduate, Anthony Todd, as he was selected to attend the United States Naval Academy. In addition, Cathy McMorris Rodgers announced six individuals that were appointed (through her recommendation) to attend a United States military academy.

Anthony Todd, a Riverside football player, was honored in October for being a Rotarian Student of the Month. On top of that, Todd was Riverside’s Senior Class President. He has ambitions to attend medical school in the future, studying emergency medicine. Todd will leave high school with a 4.0 GPA and a ticket to attend the United States Naval Academy.

With Todd, McMorris-Rodgers announced the appointment of five other individuals (listed below for reference). McMorris-Rodgers expressed, “One of the best parts of my job is having the opportunity to nominate a select few of the best and brightest young people to represent Eastern Washington at our nation’s military academies.”. She continues to say, “This year, six of these incredible nominees received appointments, charting them on a course to be the future leaders of our Armed Forces. I am so proud of each one of them for achieving this goal, and I continue to be inspired by their decision to put service before self. Congratulations, and may God bless them as they begin this next chapter!”
