No Grab-and-Go, Summer Meals Start

Deer Park School District staff members at the middle school ready to give kids and teens free lunches.

Free summer meal programs are now available to help get kids healthy meals. However, previous pandemic modifications have been removed, and normal operation restrictions are back in place.

The Summer Meal Program was created to help ensure children have nutritious meals when school is out of session. This program provides free meals and snacks to people ages 1-18.

Unlike last year, organizations will no longer be permitted to offer a “Grab-and-Go” meal option, so all meals must be eaten on site. This program is a federally-funded, state-administered program, and rules are set by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and are not specific to any local partnering organization.

Deer Park & Riverside School Districts and Spokane County Library District are partner organizations for meals in our area. No Meals will be served at any location on Monday, July 4th.  Below is a list of locations where kids can receive free food.
