Night Out Against Crime is coming to Deer Park on the first Tuesday of August. This is an annual event held around the United States that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood friendships.
Night Out Against Crime will be at the Deer Park Sports Complex on August 3rd from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. The organizers are suggesting bringing a packed picnic meal to join your community in a casual dinner. The opening prayer will be lead by Lead Chaplain Robert Kinnune. Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich and Undersheriff Michael Kittilstved will be on hand to interact with the community. Neighborhood Watch Coordinator Venus Delcambre-Morris is to speak about how to start neighborhood watches and crime prevention. Deer Park Scope will be doing Operation Family ID (OFID) fingerprints and photos of children. There is to be face painting for kids along with maybe an appearance from McGruff the Crime Dog. Other organizations in attendance will be Air One, U.S. Border Patrol, and Washington State Patrol.
