Mix Park was crowded on June 5th as it hosted the first Saturday Market for the 2021 season as well as the Outdoor Jiu-Jitsu Spokane Submission Challenge. This event was a collaborative effort of the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce and Deer Park Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Adam Smith, the owner of Deer Park Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, arranged for the Outdoor Jiu-Jitsu Spokane Submission Challenge to be held in Deer Park. Both local and outside competitors from Eastern Washington met to compete in all ages and skill levels. This event allowed many of Smith’s students to compete publicly for the first time. It is also the first time Deer Park has ever held this event.
Deer Park Chamber of Commerce did a one-time change of location for their Saturday Market to join the Outdoor Jiu-Jitsu Spokane Submission Challenge event. The Saturday Market is a once-a-month event held during the summer months in Deer Park. The remaining four markets will be at their regular location of Perrins Field and time of 10 am – 2 pm.
