Deer Park Book Sales Are Back!

The Friends of the Deer Park Library will hold their first book sale of the summer on June 11th – 12th. Three additional sales are scheduled to take place throughout the summer months. All of these book sales will be held at Deer Park Auto Freight, 2405 East Crawford Avenue in Deer Park. Hours for the sales are Fridays and Saturdays 9am to 4pm.

Proceeds from the book sales support Deer Park Library programs and services. Over the years, the Friends’ book sale proceeds have also provided toys for the children’s area, craft supplies for children’s activities, funds for summer reading programs, music concerts in Mix Park, furniture for the library, supplementary funds for the library’s after-school snack program, and much more.

In recent years, due to the success of the book sales, the Friends have branched out, making donations to other community organizations, events, and services, such as Deer Park Volunteer Ambulance, Deer Park Greenhouse, Loon Lake Food Bank, Dollars for Scholars, Pumpkin Lane, Winterfest, the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce, the cleanup and maintenance of Library Park, and more.

Participation in Friends of the Deer Park Library is free and open to everyone. For information on membership and activities please call the Friends contact Bill Moore at 509-991-6133.

“A Single Sunbeam is Enough to Drive Away Many Shadows” ST Francis of Assisi

With a heavy heart we announce the death of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and dear friend Susan G. Robideaux Emry. Susan was born April 18th, 1953, in Spokane, WA, to William and Reubie Robideaux. She went to join the Lord peacefully, in her sleep on August 5th, 2024, at her cherished home on Reflection Lake in Elk, WA. Susan grew up and rivaled her feisty, fun-loving, 5 brothers in Spokane, WA, where they performed musical skits for family friends. She attended Marycliff and Mead High Schools. She met her future husband, Brian (Bud) Emry, at a party and was instantly charmed when he tuned his harmonica in orange soda. Bud, in turn, was captivated by Susan’s party trick – reciting Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious backwards.
