Rotary Students of the Month 2021

Below are the last three “Students of the Month” chosen for 2021.

Samantha Santos, Riverside High School – Riverside High School Principal Clint Hull introduced Samantha Santos. Samantha has been a student in the Riverside School District since middle school.  She loves anything “creative” and loves to watch podcasts.  Her favorite subject, other than Art, is English. All of her AP classes have been in that subject. She is looking forward to attending Spokane Falls Community College to obtain her Associates Degree, most likely in Illustration; definitely something in the Arts field. Samantha is looking for a future in an art-related career. She follows one of her sisters who was a Student of the Month earlier this year.

Quentin Swett, Deer Park High School – Student of the Month Quentin Swett was introduced by Deer Park High School Principal Joe Feist. Principal Feist said he has tremendous respect for this student as an artist, athlete, and scholar, and has enjoyed watching him grow!  Quentin’s parents, John and Suzanne, and his grandmother were guests on this ZOOM call meeting.  Quentin has been a student in Running Start for two years and an ASB Officer/Treasurer for the past two years as well. He created a two-foot Greek Achilles Design Vase which was featured on the call, and he also won a Vista Award for Deer Park High School in the regional competition. Quentin is the recipient of the Act Six Scholarship to Whitworth University. He is a pole vaulter and got 12th in the nation for the MVP in Leagues Jump in the Junior Olympics! Quentin thanked Rotary for selecting him as Student of the Month. Principal Feist concluded by saying “He is a Renaissance man just like his father..”

Jaiden Pressnall, Mary Walker High School (not pictured) – Deer Park Rotarian Marty Hilton introduced her as a student who is very interested in Art & History. She is a third-year student at Mary Walker. She is originally from the Garfield area of the Palouse.  She loves how friendly everyone is at her high school and in the area. She especially enjoys being a spectator at sporting events.  Jaiden has been very active with the School Levy in the area.  She said she is still not sure of her student plans, but wants to get into the workforce after graduation.
