Mary Walker School District recently shared that they were awarded grants to improve their schools facilities. This summer the construction will start for new playground equipment, including a covered playing area, a basketball area, and equipment to assist kids with restricted or limited mobility. Not only will there be new playground equipment, but there will also be new P.E. supplies for the middle and high school.
An Urgent Repair Grant was also awarded to them, leading them to be able to replace sidewalks, add more lighting to the parking lot for the elementary, replace unsafe middle school bleachers, and have an electrical upgrade for their kitchen.
