CC’s Pawn Closing

After over 25 years, CC’s Pawn is closing their doors. EVERYTHING MUST GO. All inventory, fixtures, safes, and cases are 20-50% off. November is the last month to come in for bargains and to say goodbye.

Beginning in a garage on Fir Ave., CC’s was always a local favorite. The current owners Duane, Sandi, & Tyler purchased the business in 2003 and moved it to the old Firehouse Pizza, located on Main St. They quickly outgrew the little store front, and purchased CJ’s Automotive building (now Sculley’s) on Main and A St. With the size and location of the new building, CC’s became a popular draw for all locals, and a destination stop for people states away. Sandi developed the new building into a unique combination of a pawn shop and antique mall. With 100 year old furniture, estate jewelry, art, rifles, and locally made goods, CC’s had something for everyone. As entrepreneurs and leaders in the community, they would turn the store into a free haunted house for Pumpkin Lane, giving out full size candy bars to kids that made it all the way through. Every Christmas the whole family would spend the weekend on their property cutting (free range) Christmas trees to sell for $5 and $10. During the summer, they would set up the only locally owned and operated firework stand right next to the pawnshop.

In 2008, Sandi and Duane began their lifelong dream of sailing by heading south in their boat, Feral Soul, to cruise in warmer climates. With only Tyler left to run the store, they downsized the building for him to operate the store single handed. They sold the large building to Sculley’s Automotive, and moved once again to their current location at 33 N. Main in the old Gateway Music store. Tyler has run the business for the last 10 years, but now it’s time for him to move along too. On August 1st we announced the closing of the shop, giving all our customers 120 days’ notice. With the closure of the business and selling properties, Tyler needed help and convinced both Duane and Sandi to leave the tropical sandy beaches and brave Deer Park’s winter one last time. The family is back together and pulling items from storage that haven’t seen the light of day for many years. With the typical pawn shop goods and the influx of home goods, jewelry, and furniture, it is truly a throwback to its former glory.

They might not have a storefront anymore but you can still see them every day, for this 3 generation family is onto a new adventure (literally). While Sandi and Duane are living and cruising on their sailboat, Tyler, his wife, child, and store mascot, a 120lb white dog named Maverick, are off to travel the countryside, meeting up in tropical locations along Baja. With their website, Vlog, and social media, YOU can follow along on this amazing new chapter of this great Deer Park Family. Check them out at www.lwadventures.com

Long-time Deer Park resident, 1950 – 2006

The two most important things to Jannis were her relationship to Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and her family.  Jannis was born in Oakesdale, Washington on April 14, 1928, and passed away peacefully in Spokane on May 26, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert A and Edna (Hall) Crow, her husband M Dean Snook, and her two siblings Robert (Mac) Crow and Jerrene Holling.  Jannis learned hard work and gratitude for family values as she helped cook and clean for the large farm crews connected to dry land wheat farming of the 1930s-1940s.  She attended WSU (known as WSC at the time) and completed her BS in Home Economics plus her BA in Education in 1950-51.
