Mix Park was crowded on June 5th as it hosted the first Saturday Market for the 2021 season as well as the Outdoor Jiu-Jitsu Spokane Submission Challenge. This event was a collaborative effort of the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce and Deer Park Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Mix Park will be the spot for Deer Park’s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu athletes to compete in this year’s Outdoor Jiu Jitsu Spokane Submission Challenge. Both local and outside competitors from Eastern Washington will meet to compete in all ages and skill levels.

Canceling the fireworks display for the 4th of July, Mayor Tim Verzal cited concerns over public health amidst the ongoing pandemic. Depending on deputy availability, there will be extra enforcement of consumer fireworks laws in Deer Park. This year marks the first 4th of July with the new limitations on when you can use and buy fireworks.

Deer Park Volunteer Ambulance, in cooperation with the Settlers Organization, enjoyed a wonderful turnout for the Health, Safety and Wellness Fair held at Mix Park
