Ambulance services are in growing demand as more people move into the area. A surprise to many, Fire District 4 has ended the contract with Deer Park Volunteer Ambulance (DPA) for North Spokane County.

Hello Citizens of Fire District 4,
I wanted to take the opportunity to thank all of you who helped us make it through the July 4th holiday with very little impact from fireworks. I realize it is “no fun” to miss out on this tradition it is one of the ways we show our patriotism to celebrate this great nation.
After the smoke cleared at the City Council Special Emergency Meeting, the resolution passed to ban all firework activities. The main reason stated was the concern over the public threat of a fire emergency. The Deer Park Gazette takes a more in-depth look at why the decision was made and the thoughts of those involved.
