Riverside played its first away game on Sep. 8th against non-conference opponent Shadle Park. Since Shadle doesn’t have lights on their football field, the game was played at University High School.

Riverside Rams Exhausts The Spartans Defenses

The Priest River girls’ soccer team hosted the Riverside Rams in a non-conference matchup. The Spartans were coming off a 3-1 victory over Newport, while the Lady Rams had suffered a lopsided defeat to Deer Park earlier in the week. The Spartans, who only have 11 players on their roster, played the entire game with 10, similar to their game against Newport.

Rams Rise As One!

This was no ordinary opener this year, with many families being affected by the Oregon Road Fire. In order for players to be eligible to participate in the first game, they had to have 12 practices. Reportedly, ten Riverside players were deemed ineligible because they had to miss practice to protect their homes from the fire.

Stags Season Opens With Jamboree & East Valley

The Deer Park Stags football season started off with a Jamboree, which included the Lakeside Eagles and Newport Grizzlies. Unfortunately, the Riverside Rams would not join the event. During the initial game of the season against East Valley, the Stags took their first triumph.

Lady Stags Defended State Titles & Came Home Victorious!

Once again, the Lady Stags track team headed into the District Track meet with their eyes set on going back to back in the 4x100m relay and the 4x200m relay. Last year the Lady Stags went into the State Meet the favorite and came out victorious. This year the stage was set for these two relay teams to do really well, and all of the girls had their eyes set on repeating as State Champions.

Victorious Journey For Deer Park Lady Stags

For the first time in school history, the Deer Park Lady Stags Softball team has brought home a state trophy in the 2023 State Softball Tournament held in Richland, WA, at the Columbia Playfields over Memorial Weekend. The Lady Stags won over Hoquiam High School to bring home 3rd place on Sunday morning after a thunder/lightning delay halted their game on Saturday night.

Stags Beat Cascade, Advance To State

With a 4-0 victory over Cascade on Saturday, the Deer Park High School soccer team punched its ticket to the 1A state tournament for the fifth time in the past eight seasons. The Stags (15-2-1 overall) will play a first-round match against Bear Creek (16-1-2) at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Union Stadium in Mead.
