The Priest River girls’ soccer team hosted the Riverside Rams in a non-conference matchup. The Spartans were coming off a 3-1 victory over Newport, while the Lady Rams had suffered a lopsided defeat to Deer Park earlier in the week. The Spartans, who only have 11 players on their roster, played the entire game with 10, similar to their game against Newport.

Riverside would score first on a shot by sophomore #8 Mikaela Davis from distance. The Rams would add another goal before the half, this time a breakaway by senior #3 Ashlee Clauson. Fatigue was a factor for the Spartans as the second half would see four more Riverside goals, two from #20 Layla Baker, another for Clauson, and the final goal by freshman #14 Ella Coston.

The Spartans had plenty of opportunities with a few balls off the posts, but nothing would find the back of the net. Riverside’s keeper Mariah Mally, a senior, shuts out the Spartans, and the Rams win 6-0.
