Crowdsourcing Our Broadband Access

The Stevens County / Spokane Tribe Broadband Action Team announced in a press release that they are collaborating with the Spokane Tribe Telecom Exchange (STTX) on a crowdsourcing project. By collecting internet speed data from residents, they will gain the ability to further advocate for an expansion of high-speed internet connectivity throughout communities in need of it.

Virtual Bear Aware Class

The Pend Oreille County Master Gardeners are offering a free, live, internet class called “Bear Aware”, on Thursday, May 21st, from 6:30pm-8:00pm. The class will be taught by County Extension Director, Mike Jensen, who will provide information and educational resources so a person can safely and responsibly enjoy bears in the wild. If a close encounter should occur, the goal is to educate you on the best way to handle the situation and minimize the bear encounter risk.
