There was no “business as usual” for the Green House Food Bank in 2022. We experienced a lot of changes, expected and unexpected. I’m proud of the resilience of our team and clients. I’m thankful for the steady and generous support of our local community.
Habitat for Humanity is asking the community to join together to build hope, one nail at a time. The 22nd anniversary Blitz Build started this week, and it will continue until the 16th of this month with a double home dedication event. There is still time to volunteer; spots are still available.

Dr. Alexa Allman, the Deer Park School District’s new superintendent, has determined her primary goal is to connect with the community, understand their needs, and foster a sense of unity and belonging. With plans for facility improvements, the district is set to provide quality education while maintaining its small-town charm.

For the first time in school history, the Deer Park Lady Stags Softball team has brought home a state trophy in the 2023 State Softball Tournament held in Richland, WA, at the Columbia Playfields over Memorial Weekend. The Lady Stags won over Hoquiam High School to bring home 3rd place on Sunday morning after a thunder/lightning delay halted their game on Saturday night.
