SCOPE in Deer Park is looking for volunteers 18 years and older to help be the eyes and ears for the Sheriff’s department and local community. SCOPE stands for Sheriff’s Community Oriented Policing Effort.

In a stressful time of uncertainty and angst, 2 Loons Distillery has put forth an effort to bring comfort to their community in the form of hand sanitizer. In the days following Governor Jay Inslee’s announcement to suspend school until the end of April, chaos erupted. Stores were swarming, carts packed to the brim with staple home products, like toilet paper and soap, and it wasn’t long before hand sanitizer was completely off the shelves.

Each month’s prompt will be in the newspaper and on Facebook. Our favorite stories will be published the following month. Responses will be judged on creativity and the ability to communicate a story. Submit your six-word story by the 25th of each month.

2nd Harvest and Faith Lutheran Church will be holding a Free Food Distribution with a drive through pick up for up to 250 families. The

Deer Park Rotarian and Riverside School Board Member Bob Carroll was ready for Literacy Night at the Riverside High School Gymnasium on March 3rd. This has become an annual event for the Deer Park Rotary Club, and started back a number of years ago with Rotarian Meg Parker and Stacey Schneider, Riverside Parent Coordinator.

Shore Acres Resort on Loon Lake will be hosting the first annual Ladies Clothing Exchange. There is no limit to how many clothes you can bring, including tops, pants, skirts, dresses, accessories, jewelry, and maternity clothes. There are no size limits either.

If you are a senior citizen looking for friendly companionship, good conversation, a hot cup of coffee and maybe a game of cards, look no further than the Deer Park Senior Center.
