Early results for the August Primary for the Deer Park School District At Large Board and Fire District 4 Fire Commissioners. The results will not be finalized until the Secretary of the State of Washington has certified the results.
The event was well attended. Each candidate had the opportunity to give statements and answer a limited number of questions. Afterwards, the candidates mixed and mingled to answer questions from potential voters.
Ben Boschee passed away July 19, 2023 from heart failure at Holy Family in Spokane. He was born in Wishek, North Dakota. Raised on the family farm with his 10 brothers and 5 sisters. Ben went into the service 1951-1953 and was awarded Korean Service Medal, Bronze Service Star. U.N. Service Medal, and many more.

D’Arcy Paul Banister (89) passed away June 28th at Deaconess Hospital. He is now at home with his Lord and Savior.
He leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Kathryn Patricia (Koppe) Banister, their two children Marcy Cook & Kyndel Banister, one surviving brother, Gene Banister, and 5 grandchildren.

The city has detected a steady level of PFAS in its drinking water over the past two decades. The city plans to sue to recover future remediation costs, as more stringent Federal EPA standards are expected to soon be in place, potentially exceeding the current contamination levels in Deer Park’s water supply.
