Traffic is moving again on US-395, but the investigation into today’s serious motorcycle crash is far from over.
Traffic Restored
As of 5pm today, all lanes of US-395 have been reopened to traffic. Earlier today, a serious collision involving a motorcycle and a white pickup truck at the intersection of Highway 395 and H Street, which is near Henery Hardware, forced a complete closure of the highway, resulting in significant gridlock through the heart of Deer Park.
The incident, which occurred just after 4pm, initially brought travel to a standstill. To keep motorists moving, the Washington State Patrol (WSP) rerouted all highway traffic into the City of Deer Park. This detour led to heavy congestion on Main Street and Crawford Street as commuters and heavy freight trucks navigated local intersections to bypass the scene.
Ongoing Investigation
While the roadway is now open, the WSP investigation remains active. Investigators were on the scene for several hours documenting the site, a process that typically follows serious collisions. Official reports on the condition of the motorcycle rider and the truck driver have not yet been released.
Driver Advisory
Local traffic is returning to normal, though some residual delays may exist near the south end of town. Motorists are advised to drive with caution near the original crash site as emergency units may still be finishing up on the shoulder.
