This Saturday! Miss Deer Park 2025

Miss Deer Park contestants practice at the Deer Park High School on Tuesday before the main event.

The Miss Deer Park Scholarship Program 2025 promises an evening of glamour, talent, and community. It’s not just a competition but a celebration of the collective achievements and aspirations of Deer Park’s young women.

After weeks of dedication and hard work, anticipation is soaring for the main event of 2025 Miss Deer Park program. This year’s theme, “Oh! The Places You’ll Go!” sets the stage for an inspiring night highlighting the contestants’ journeys and dreams.

This year’s event will take place on March 15th at 6pm at the Ken Fisher Auditorium inside the Deer Park High School, 800 S Weber Road, offering a night of dazzling performances and fierce competition. Six high school junior ladies —Hailey Billesbach, Ashlyn Rudnick, Grace Wortman, Joeli Thomas, Elizabeth Hamilton, and Abby Castle—will take the stage to compete for over $15,000 in scholarships. These awards are possible because of generous contributions from local businesses and community supporters. Family, friends, and the greater Deer Park neighborhood are encouraged to attend and cheer on these incredible young ladies.

In addition to the main competition, some of the youngest audience members will have a chance to take the stage as part of a special princess moment. This beloved tradition allows children to experience the thrill of being on stage, fostering dreams of future participation in the program. Past contestants often reflect on the impact of this experience, citing it as an early inspiration for their journey toward competing.

Tickets for the event are $15 and can be purchased in advance through contestants, at practice sessions, or online. A limited number may be available at the door, though organizers encourage early purchases as tickets tend to sell out quickly.

New this year, tickets can be purchased online at DPGazette.com/mdpticket. Zeffy is a platform that ensures 100% of proceeds go directly to the Miss Deer Park Scholarship Program. In addition to ticket sales, supporters can make donations to support the scholarship fund. Ticket purchases are not required to make donations. Every contribution helps fund scholarships that empower young women in Deer Park to pursue higher education and achieve their aspirations.

“A Single Sunbeam is Enough to Drive Away Many Shadows” ST Francis of Assisi

With a heavy heart we announce the death of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and dear friend Susan G. Robideaux Emry. Susan was born April 18th, 1953, in Spokane, WA, to William and Reubie Robideaux. She went to join the Lord peacefully, in her sleep on August 5th, 2024, at her cherished home on Reflection Lake in Elk, WA. Susan grew up and rivaled her feisty, fun-loving, 5 brothers in Spokane, WA, where they performed musical skits for family friends. She attended Marycliff and Mead High Schools. She met her future husband, Brian (Bud) Emry, at a party and was instantly charmed when he tuned his harmonica in orange soda. Bud, in turn, was captivated by Susan’s party trick – reciting Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious backwards.
