Middle School Cross Country Fun With Gallery

Deer Park Middle School buzzed excitedly as students from five schools came together for a spirited cross-country meet. The event showcased teamwork, athleticism, and the joy of running among friends.

Deer Park Middle School welcomed over 150 students from five different schools for the first cross-country meet of the season.  This co-ed competition featured 6th, 7th, and 8th graders racing on a challenging 1.5-mile course.

The meet was held on the 19th of this month and started with the girls’ race, showcasing standout performances from Deer Park’s Sam Cosner and Cora Seagraves, who finished just seconds apart. Following them, the boys took to the course, with 8th graders Kason Dean and Jesse Schurger leading the way for Deer Park. The event saw participation from Lakeside, Halstead, Mountainside, and Northwood Middle Schools, contributing to a vibrant atmosphere filled with excitement and support.

Families lined the course, cheering for their young athletes as they navigated the track. The encouragement from the sidelines created an energetic environment, motivating runners to push their limits. With such a successful turnout, Deer Park Middle School is integral in promoting physical fitness and teamwork among its students.
