Lady Stags Take On Four Teams

It was an epic four-match week for Deer Park Lady Stags soccer, with a pair of league events and two non-league matchups against state-ranked opponents.

VS Northwest Christian Schools
The week began at home in a defensive battle with Northwest Christian, the #4 ranked class 2B squad on the WIAA RPI rankings. A lone first-half tally for the visiting Crusaders from Colbert stood up for a 1-0 win.

VS Newport
Tuesday was the conclusion of the first half of Northeast “A” League play at Newport. While limited to only eight shots on goal, four found the net, all by high-scoring junior Rylee Pfeifer. Fellow junior Samantha Fausti kept the host Grizzlies off the board for all 80 minutes in the 4-0 victory.

VS Colville
Thursday saw action back at home against Colville as the second half of league play began. Deer Park was kept off the board until the 33rd minute when freshman Avery Mitchell scored her second goal of the season, a lead the home squad would take to intermission.

Three minutes into the second half, sophomore Sienna Breneman would make it 2-0 and added another two minutes later. She would add a pair more, marking the conclusion of her four-goal scoring fest only 16 minutes into the second half. Pfeifer would add the final goal from Breneman in the 64th minute as the final was 6-1.

VS West Valley
The week concluded with a visit to the state’s top-ranked class 2A squad, West Valley Eagles, which prevailed at 6-0.
