Jack Lorn Hill, 93 & Kathleen D. Hill, 84

Jack Lorn Hill, 93 of Colbert passed on October 11, 2022. Jack was born in Union Gap, WA to Floyd E. and Edna N. Hill. He graduated from Columbia High School at Hunters, WA. in 1947 and Eastern Washington State College in 1957, following active duty in the US Air Force as a mechanic. He worked as an aircraft, tractor, truck and engine mechanic for his vocation. Jack married Kathleen Doggett in 1956 and the couple had 3 boys in their 65 years married together. He is survived by sons Karl and Scott, and preceded in death by wife Kathleen in 2021, and son Mark, at age 3 in 1964, and by sister Nona Reinbold and brother Floyd Hill.

Kathleen D. Hill, 84 was born in Peck, Kansas on June 3, 1936 to Kenneth C. and Hazel Doggett and passed on March 21, 2021. She is survived by younger brother Kenneth and preceded in death by sisters Dianne and Dixie. Kathleen graduated from EWSC in 1957 and taught school for 31 years, mostly First Grade at the Colbert Elementary School. Together they enjoyed and were highly involved in the Masonic fraternity in Deer Park Masonic Lodge, Bethlehem Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Valley of Spokane Scottish Rite, El Katif Shrine, El Karnak Daughters of the Nile and as statewide level representatives. Jack was Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 208 for many years and led in year-around outdoor adventures and teaching how to whittle with his pocket knives. Following retirement, the couple enjoyed traveling around the US in a motorhome for many years.

A Celebration Memorial is scheduled for Jack and Kathleen for 1:00 p.m. on October 27, 2022 at the Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with graveside Masonic service for Jack following at 2:30 p.m. in the Spokane Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Donations may be made in the honor of both of them to the Early Life Speech & Language Center in Spokane.
