Know Your Stevens County Candidates 2022

Election season has officially started in Washington State as Stevens County representatives have officially declared their candidacy in different county positions. 

Stevens County, home to nine different cities, is beginning to fill with posters, billboards, and stickers for many different candidates in the upcoming 2022 election. While only a select few candidates have posters or billboards, it’s important to know everyone that’s running for office within the county. 

Ballots will vary on location, covered below are positions up for election in Stevens County.

Fire At Sculley’s Auto Quickly Extinguished

Fire erupted from a van parked in front of Sculley’s on Monday. A quick response by Spokane County Fire District #4 crews prevented a vehicle fire from spreading to the structure. Traffic was blocked on A Street for a short time while crews worked on the fire.

As a city council member in the late 70’s and early 80’s and a city employee for 24 years I have heard a lot of misinformation disseminated through “coffee shop” talk and later social media. It has always concerned me to hear incorrect information passed along by people who don’t bother to ask for the facts, when they are readily available. Right now I am hearing of things being said about the Deer Park School levy, particularly the need for a new bus barn, that are troubling.
