Michael John Coffin

Mike Passed away Saturday October 10, 2021 in Tacoma Washington. He was born in Spokane, Washington on May 25, 1945 and adopted by Frances Ethyl and Elden Frank Coffin.

Mike graduated from Deer Park High School in 1963. Upon graduation from high school, he traveled with classmate Bill Gosnell’s family to California to begin a new life. Things did not work out the way he had hoped so he decided to enlist in the Navy. After basic training he spent most of his enlistment in Japan repairing aircraft electronics. After his enlistment ended, he returned to the United States where he was employed by an airline company to repair their airliners electronic devices. As part of this employment Mike was stationed in countries across the world from many countries in Africa to the Netherlands in Europe to Malaysia in the far east. After working for a commercial airline, he began working for Boeing aircraft corporation. When his mother passed away, he was stationed in far western China and it took him over a week to get back to the United States to attend the service for her.

In 1973 he married California native Pamela Gordon and in 1978 they had a son, Nicholas Jacob. Their marriage ended in 1986 and in 1989 he married Bonnie Craig. Their marriage ended in 2006.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Ethyl Coffin in 1986, and father, Elden Frank Coffin in 1984. He is survived by his son Nicholas Jacob Coffin (wife Thea) granddaughter Lake and grandson Owen in Benicia California, and his brother Peter Elden Coffin in Deer Park, Washington
