Buying Local Supports Our Neighbors

The last few months have taken a toll on our community.  As a result of the pandemic, states were shut down and many businesses had to close. Now that the holidays are drawing near, it is more important than ever to support these local businesses.

Local Treasures

Deer Park has a variety of fun stores to visit for the perfect Christmas gift. From thrift stores to gift and novelty shops, there are always fun and unique treasures to find. There are gift ideas for all ages that you can browse. Thrift shops are also great places to find clothes for all ages.

Coffee and Treats

There are also many coffee shops and stands in the area. Most of these shops have merchandise available as well as yummy treats, but if you’re not sure what to get for someone, many have gift cards available. There’s nothing like stopping for a warm coffee for you and maybe hot chocolate for your little ones on a cold winter day! Coffee shops are great places to sit down with a pastry or drink and read, do homework, and even work. Gift cards for these cozy shops would make an awesome gift during the holidays.

Health and Fitness

There’s also the option of purchasing a card that gives you visits to the Spin Barre and The Gym, if you want to give the gift of health and fitness. Deer Park has many gym options. It’s hard to work out during the holidays due to snow, so those who usually run would probably love a place to keep up their physical fitness.

Get Spoiled

While sitting in a cozy coffee shop or wandering through Deer Park’s stores to find cool treasures are fun ways to spend the time, there’s nothing like the feeling of a massage, hairdo, or even a manicure! Pampering yourself during winter time is a great mood booster. There are a number of salons around that have gift cards available and special packages to give someone a relaxing day. Not only that, but they have products that would be  great stocking stuffers, such as shampoo, conditioning treatments, nail polish, hair oils, and even clothing items.

If Christmas is too far away for you to think about at the moment, don’t worry! There are many places that would love your support during Thanksgiving as well. Bill Egger Meats in Deer Park would be an awesome place to buy your Thanksgiving turkey. Buying a turkey for as low as $3.39 a pound and fresh stuffing for $3.99 a pound is a great way to boost the business.

Also coming up in December, Lofty Skies will be celebrating their 5 year anniversary by giving away hot 10 oz. breves and cookies. Don’t miss out on this awesome opportunity to support a local business while celebrating a big milestone!

We are a community, and a community can’t survive without the support from everyone. As you’re doing your Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s shopping this year, think of all the families you will be supporting through this tough time.
