Joshua Freed, former Bothell Mayor, and Republican announced that he would start a “write-in” candidacy campaign for Lt. Governor.
Freed initially ran for Governor in the primaries but was beat out by Loren Culp. He has since decided that because two Democrats are running for the Lt. Governor position, he would make that his goal instead.

The Medicine Shoppe in Deer Park is closing its doors permanently on November 28th due to undisclosed circumstances. All patient prescription files are being automatically transferred to Sixth Avenue Pharmacy in Spokane. Patients will need to contact the new pharmacy to update their payment information, as credit card details could not be transferred.

A state investigation is officially underway into the City of Deer Park for the alleged illegal use of taxpayer resources to promote a $14.6 million school levy. My name is Mike Thompson, and I have been a resident of Spokane County Fire District #4 for 22 years. During this time, I have had the privilege of serving on the Citizens Advisory Committee, where we review district operations, monitor facilities, and provide input on funding options.
Fire erupted from a van parked in front of Sculley’s on Monday. A quick response by Spokane County Fire District #4 crews prevented a vehicle fire from spreading to the structure. Traffic was blocked on A Street for a short time while crews worked on the fire.
As a city council member in the late 70’s and early 80’s and a city employee for 24 years I have heard a lot of misinformation disseminated through “coffee shop” talk and later social media. It has always concerned me to hear incorrect information passed along by people who don’t bother to ask for the facts, when they are readily available. Right now I am hearing of things being said about the Deer Park School levy, particularly the need for a new bus barn, that are troubling.
Washington State lawmakers announced in early May the possibility of a budget crisis over the next few years. The cause of this fiscal emergency stems from the COVID-19 pandemic; with the shutdown of Washington and closure of many businesses, this is something they saw coming.
