Meals on Wheels: Raising Awareness

Meals on Wheels is dedicating the whole month of March to bringing awareness to senior citizens in need of healthy meals and wellness visits, in their annual March for Meals event.

The Greater Spokane Meals on Wheels uses March for Meals to draw in volunteers to help with the silent malady of poor nutrition and isolation.  Leading off the month with a Mall Crawl, where participants paid to walk a course around Spokane’s Northtown or Valley Mall. Proceeds then go to help support Meals on Wheels’ mission to bring healthy meals to our community’s seniors.

You can donate online or volunteer with the program to provide nutritious meals, a quick safety check, and much-needed human connection to homebound seniors. Donating time or funds can make a huge difference in the lives of many.
