Covid 19 Closings March 13

Not only has this novel virus caused global fear, it has cleaned out shelves at stores and is now canceling and postponing local events.

As of March 13th, the list events canceled, postponed, or otherwise modified. The date with each event is when it was originally scheduled to take place. If you know of any other events that have been impacted in the Deer Park area please email [email protected]

In addition to the events listed below, there are other sporting events in our local school districts that have either been canceled or postponed.  If you have any upcoming events, please check with the organizers to confirm if things will continue as planned.

All Washington State K12 Schools Closed March 17 to April 24

  • Spokane City Libraries – Closed After March 14th.
  • Tri-County Little League – Suspended until April 6th.

  • Miss Deer Park Contest, March 14th – Family only please
  • Deer Park Chamber Luncheon, March 17th – Postponed
  • Deer Park Senior Center – Closed until April 1st.
  • Libraries of Stevens County – Canceling ALL events and programs until April 5th, (Locations will remain open standard hours)
  • Spokane Library District – Some services affected, check the event calendar before attending
  • Deer Park City Council March 18 – Canceled

Shirley Eleanor (Kintschi) McRae, 91, of Spokane and formerly Deer Park, passed away on December 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Shirley was born to Morris Kintschi and Anna (Tanner) Kintschi on April 29, 1934, in Edwall, Washington. She graduated from Edwall High School in 1952, where she met her husband-to-be, John McRae. John and Shirley were married in 1954, and they lived in Redondo Beach, California, while John served in the U.S. Navy. They returned to Spokane in 1955, living on Five Mile Prairie, then at Dartford, and finally in the house that John designed and built in Deer Park in 1976, where the family lived for over 42 years.

Closing Soon The Medicine Shoppe In Deer Park

The Medicine Shoppe in Deer Park is closing its doors permanently on November 28th due to undisclosed circumstances. All patient prescription files are being automatically transferred to Sixth Avenue Pharmacy in Spokane. Patients will need to contact the new pharmacy to update their payment information, as credit card details could not be transferred.
