TCAA’s 40th Anniversary

For 40 years, the non-profit Tri-County Association of the Arts (TCAA) has made its mark on the “art scene” in the Deer Park community.

The Tri-County Association of the Arts in Deer Park has existed to promote a better understanding and appreciation of the visual arts, and to promote art education for its members.  Those who have attended the annual Winterfest event that have become familiar with seeing a variety of artistic mediums on display by TCAA members. Deer Park residents may also see examples of artwork from the TCAA displayed in local banks and businesses.

Meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month, September through June, at the Pizza Factory in Deer Park.  Meetings start at 11am, with lunch at 12pm.

Opportunities are available for members to develop various artistic techniques, learn about new art materials, and practice using different art media.

Recent art education sessions have included use of the “Elegant Writer” pen, PhotoShop techniques, matte cutting, “rub out” techniques for creating a portrait, alcohol ink painting, composition,, woodburning, and many other topics. We have also been blessed to have renowned local western artist Joe Kronenberg hold all-day workshops for the TCAA in various oil painting techniques. “Paint Days” at City Hall have given members a chance to meet and work on their art, while receiving inspiration and encouragement from other members.  We also organize field trips to local art activities and scenic locations.

TCAA artists have developed a line of greeting cards for sale – of member paintings and photos, as well as a cookbook that can be purchased. We welcome art enthusiasts to come to the Pizza Factory for our monthly meetings, and join in the fun.

For more information, please call TCAA President Jackie Forney at 509-276-7191.
