Deer Park High School Equestrian Team

Your Deer Park High School Equestrian Team has begun their 2018-2019 season with lots of promise, enthusiasm, and high expectations.

This year’s team has five returning members: senior, Christy Saccomanno; juniors Andrea Hallauer, Haley Wood and Nikki Moon; and sophomore Kyrstyn Kane.  Kayden Coleman, another sophomore, is a transfer student to Deer Park from District 4 and a welcome addition. Rounding out the team are our freshman Lucy Cowin, Haylee Grydtal, Maddie Moon and Emily Morris.

The team works hard during the winter months getting ready for our three district meets in Wenatchee, with two meets in March and one in April. The top performers at the meets then move on to the State Championship in Moses Lake in early May. It truly is one of the sports that is a year-long season, demanding a lot of dedication, time, and hard work.

A special THANK YOU to Twin Willows Equestrian Center, which so graciously allows us to use their facility for practice and call it home. Also, to our parents who haul us to practice, wait in the cold while we are practicing, then get us home safely thru the winter months and snow covered roads, a huge THANK YOU.

Your Deer Park High School Equestrian Team is a club sport, which means the student-athlete pays for all their expenses. The Team has one major fundraiser every year. We are having a Chicken Fried Steak Dinner and Silent Auction at the Eagles on December 7th from 5:00-7:30. You can purchase tickets from any team member, or at the door.  We would love to see you there!
